Job Description for Project Manager:

The primary function of the Project Manager is to provide broad management, implementation, control and completion of all NPD / VAVE projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategy. Project Managers are responsible for ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated and maintained to meet the project requirements and timing.

  • Develop and manage full scale NPD project plans. Ensure clarity around project scope, goals, timelines and deliverables, and a risk assessment and mitigation plan.
  • Provide leadership for cross-functional project teams and motivate team members to meet project goals, adhere to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Work with Product Management to clearly define, and communicate new product development project scope to engineering, cross functional teams, and Account Managers.
  • Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, and tools to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Coordinate regular cross-functional project team meetings, including global teams.
  • Work with the Regulatory group to ensure the appropriate certifications and testing are completed.
  • Maintain and distribute timely meeting notes that includes results, decisions, issues and next steps. Identify and expeditiously escalate critical issues to the team
  • Prepare estimates and detailed projects plan for all phases of the project
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to all key stake holders through the project life cycle
  • Work with Business Development on projects during the business evaluation phase and ensure a smooth transition for approved projects into the NPD process.
  • Prepare and present consolidated project summaries to communicate project status, risks and recommended actions to local and global teams and upper management.
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path items
  • Incorporate approved changes into project charters, engineering specifications, statement of works, cost and schedule baselines.
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resource and understand interdependencies between operations, engineering and business needs.
  • Continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, systems and best practices.

Requirements:

  • BS Degree, in Engineering or technical field a benefit but not necessary.
  • 5 or more years of Project Management experience
  • 3 or more years of experience with full Product Development and understanding of development lifecycle
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word) 
  • The ability to develop a strong technical understanding of products, culture and goals.
  • Travel up to 20%
