SkyBridge Resources is seeking a Network Engineer for a client in Louisville, KY.  This network team designs, implements and supports networks that provide services to our employees and customers. The team supports the data networks that our client's facilities and branch offices rely upon for clinical and business applications.

Project Details

In the coming year, our client will be involved in migrating clients in branch offices to a new network. This project does not require travel, but will provide support to technicians that are travelling to remote sites. Although Viptela SDWan support part of this project, experience with Viptela is not required. Engineers with a solid understanding of Layer2 and Layer3 Cisco networking with an aptitude for learning new concepts will learn to support Viptela SDWan in this role. The team member will be responsible for the following project tasks as part of migrating approximately 160 sites

  • Updating configurations on Cisco and Adtran routers, Cisco switches, Meraki Firewalls, and Viptela VEdges.
  • Creating and modifying DHCP scopes.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving wired and wireless connectivity issues. This requires experience with Cisco wireless access points and controllers, and Meraki firewalls and access points.
  • Creating and modifying rules on Palo Alto firewalls to support new applications.
  • Analyzing router ACLs and filters to identify routing and performance issues.


The following are common support tasks that the engineer in this position will perform in addition to the project.

  • Identify and resolve network performance issues using SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor, Stealthwatch, Viptela VManage, and Meraki dashboard.
  • Analyze network traces with Wireshark or similar tools to identify root cause of performance issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate break/fix of network equipment, in part using Orion Network Configuration manager to manage and deploy configs.
  • Troubleshoot and support MPLS and broadband circuits for remote facilities, working with carriers and our Network Operations Center to diagnose and resolve issues.


  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Requires at least four years recent experience in a position where primary responsibilities included Cisco network support in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to work multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Cisco IOS and is required.
  • Experience supporting MPLS, broadband, and VPNs.
  • Some experience using Python or other scripting tools is helpful, but not required.
