Job Description

Position: Aircraft Avionics Installer

Job Description: The Avionics Installer I must (under moderate supervision) remove and install avionics electrical components, fabricate wire harnesses, installations, terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics and electrical systems on fix and rotatory wing aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in installations, modifications and the fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings
  • Assist with maintaining required logs and records
  • Perform avionic and electrical modifications on various aircraft's
  • Install electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, or soldering irons
  • Connect components to assemblies such as radio systems, instruments, magnetos, inverters, and in-flight refueling systems, using hand tools and soldering irons
  • Lay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as blueprints, manuals, and wiring diagrams
  • Properly care for and maintain the shop, equipment, and tools
  • In adhering to company polices, all employees are subject to random drug and alcohol tests
  • This position is also subject to random drug and alcohol testing under DOT and FAA regulations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • General knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and customer specifications
  • Six months accredited schooling in aviation electronics or general electrical experience preferred
  • Technical Certificate in aircraft electrical assembly preferred
  • Proficient in reading data design drawings
  • Must have own tools to perform work needed
  • Ability to bend, lift, and work in tight spaces
  • Previous knowledge of the use of all installation tooling and equipment is preferred
  • Acceptable background check for required matters
  • US Citizen for required matters

Days/Hours:

  • Normal work day is 8 hours Monday thru Friday
  • Work overtime hours when required
  • Travel to other locations on occasion to perform installs

Additional Information:

Most often the working conditions will be in the Southeast Aerospace facility hangars.

Must pass a 7 year plus criminal background check and FAA DOT Drug Test.
