Job Description

Aircraft Structures Mechanic-Military Program

  • $35.70 package including a strong Per Diem weekly amount
  • $52.50 Overtime pay
  • Average 10-20 hours of OT

Aircraft Structural Mechanic Overview

Inspect, repair, modify, and replace complex aircraft structures and components using tools such as shears, sheet metal brake, rivet gun, drills and other aircraft specific tools. May specialize in aircraft structural repair and or aircraft modifications for avionics upgrades and installing surveillance platforms for DOD customers.

Aircraft Structural Mechanic Responsibilities

  • Perform Sheet Metal Structural, Fabrication, Modification, and Repair work.
  • Work with close tolerance dimensions, and pneumatic tools.
  • Perform aircraft sheet metal modifications, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, fabrication, maintenance, and assembly of aircraft and aircraft parts.
  • Documenting work per company, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Read, interpret, and comply with Repair Station Quality Manual, Production Certificate Quality Manual, Standard Operation Procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, Technical Manuals, Drawings, and Specifications.
  • Achieve and maintain task qualifications for all work performed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties, document time and work completed in appropriate systems, and create any required documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and correct aircraft part and component discrepancies
  • Order, receive and return parts in accordance with company policies
  • Perform Lean, Standard Work and Continuous Process Improvements.
  • Assist other employees in the performance of their job assignments through coaching, mentoring, and guidance.

Aircraft Structural Mechanic Qualifications

  • 4-9 years of experience working with aircraft sheet metal modification & repair work using engineering blueprints.
  • Experience with drilling, counter sinks, rivet shavers, reamers, riveting, jig/fixture usage, and other tools associated with sheet metal repair.
  • Experience with thin Contoured Structure, as well as large structural fittings helpful.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform drilling/riveting and fabrication duties; as well as being able to develop sheet metal repairs using Structural Repair Manuals, Tech Manuals, and Engineering Dispositions.
  • Possess set of sheet metal tools.
  • Recent experience as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician with modification experience.
  • Skilled in communicating verbally and in writing in a manner that is clear, concise, accurate, and professional.
  • Able to repeatedly lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; work in confined spaces; and follow safe working practices.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Pass a 10 year Criminal Background Check
  • Pass a FAA DOT Drug Test
  • Prefer an active Airframe and/or Power plant license
  • Need to be flexible with hours
